ame
cr
compactor, passing over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique
was applicable).
D) Soil Liner Fill
1) VLF
No SLF placement was performed during the shift. (see Figure 2 for previously placed soil
liner fill).
E) Low Volume Solution Collection System
1) Low Volume Solution Collection Piping
Placement of the low volume solution collection system continued at the LVCSF placement
area shown on Figure 5, advancing in front of the placement. Four -inch CPeP was placed and
sandbagged in accordance with design drawings, constructing the mainline and the tertiary
lines. The secondary geomembrane in the area was accepted prior to pipe placement.
2) Low Volume Solution Collection Fill (LVSCF)
Low volume solution collection fill (LVSCF) placement within the Phase 5 VLF continued.
LVSCF was placed in the area show on Figure 5. The LVSCF was hauled from the processing
area to the placement area using CAT 740 haul trucks loaded by a CAT 988 front -end loader.
The LVSCF was placed in a 3 -foot lift using three CAT D -6 LGP dozers, a CAT D -7 LGP
dozer and a CAT D -8 LGP dozer except where haul routes were established. Haul routes
consisted of five -foot lifts, to be spread into 3 -foot lifts later. Laborers were present at all times
during placement holding the low volume collection piping in place, removing
debris /sandbags, and assisting the dozer operator with lift thickness. All LVSCF was placed on
previously approved secondary geomembrane. AMEC field representatives monitored the
LVSCF placement constantly.
F) High Volume Solution Collection System
1) High Volume Solution Collection Piping
Placement of the high volume collection system continued at the DCF placement area shown
on Figure 6, advancing in front of the placement. CPeP was placed and sandbagged in
accordance with design drawings and project specifications. The primary geomembrane in the
area was accepted prior to pipe placement.
2) Drain Cover Fill (DCF)
Drain cover fill (DCF) placement within the Phase 5 VLF continued. DCF was placed in the
area show on Figure 6. The DCF was hauled from the processing area to the placement area
using CAT 740 haul trucks. The DCF was placed in a 2 -foot lift using a CAT D -6 LGP dozer
except where haul routes were established. Haul route consisted of five -foot lifts to be spread
into 2 -foot lifts later. Laborers were present at all times during placement holding the high
volume collection piping in place, removing debris /sandbags, and assisting the dozer operator
with lift thickness. All DCF was placed on previously approved primary geomembrane. AMEC
field representatives monitored the DCF placement constantly.
DCF was also placed over previously placed DCF constructing a 5 -foot road to access the
south toe berm. This was performed using a CAT D -6 LGP dozer.
VLF Weekly Report WE 09.18.10.1)
