The trench was backfilled with material
removed from the trench during excavation using a CAT 330 excavator and a CAT 966 front -end
loader. Approximately 300 linear feet (two lengths of 150 feet) of HDPE pipe was placed in the
trench and air pressure tested. The pipe was then backfilled using pipe bedding material compacted
using the CAT 330 excavator bucket. Structural fill was then used to backfill the remainder of the
trench.
Hydrostatic testing of the 12" HDPE ADR waterline (station A24 +00 ( + / -) to the new ADR water
tank) was performed. The line was pressurized to 180 psi (1.5 x operating pressure) and held the
pressure for one hour. This meets the CEntry project specification. The testing was performed
under the observation of an AMEC field representative.
Construction of the ADR tank overflow line continued. Trench excavation was performed using a
CAT 330 excavator. Pipe bedding placement was also performed as the trench excavation
progressed. This was performed using a CAT 966 front -end loader and a CAT 330 excavator.
Approximately 100 linear feet of trench was excavated and bedded.
Construction of air /vacuum valves, vaults, and other fittings continued through out the week.
Excavation of the Bull Hill booster pump foundation was performed using a CAT 345 excavator.
I) Miscellaneous
No work performed during the week.
III) Underground Workings
A) Drilling
Confirmation drilling was performed at Underground Workings #3006 and #3007. A drill pattern
was established by an AMEC representative around the perimeter of the workings on four -foot
centers. Twelve holes were drilled during the week. Voids were encountered at eight hole locations
at depths between 0 and 39 feet. An approximate total of 600 feet was drilled during the week. The
perimeter of the workings was established excluding the northwest side (holes #25 thru #35) were
loose material was present. The loose material in the area made drilling difficult. After a
discussion with John Lupo, the limits of the loose material will be defined and the material will be
removed later.
B) Mine Shaft/Stope Remediation
No work performed during the week.
VLF Weekly Report WE 12.12.09.D.doc
