In regards to the Section 7
consultation, given that Greater Sage Grouse has been added as a candidate species, the appropriate sections
of 2.04.11 — Fish and Wildlife Information, Section 2.05.6(2) — Fish and Wildlife Plan and Exhibit 15A —
Threatened, Endangered and Sensitive Species Information within the permit will need to be updated for this
species. If MCM believes that current and future activities at the site will not impact Greater Sage Grouse,
documentation to that end will need to be included in the appropriate sections of the permit.
The updated sections of the permit as well as water depletion information will be submitted to OSM when we
receive your response to the adequacy review comments. OSM will make a determination if a Section 7
consultation is necessary. My experience with the last permit renewals at Hayden Gulch Loadout and the
Trapper Mine, OSM will likely initiate the Section 7 consultation.
Thanks,
Jared
On Tue, Feb 25, 2014 at 11:37 AM, Nettleton, Jerry <JNettleton @peabodyenergy.com> wrote:
Jared /Sandy —
Thanks for your time yesterday, appreciated the opportunity to review and discuss status and direction for our
Williams Fork Property.
As I mentioned, I had contacted Liza Rossi with CPW re: any mapping of Sage Grouse leks for the Williams
Fork Property. She referred me to Brian Holmes, who is the grouse specialist out of the CPW Meeker Office
that is responsible for Area 6, which includes the Williams Fork Property. Brian sent me the attached map
showing both identified Sage Grouse and Sharp - Tailed Grouse lek locations in the Williams Fork area.
https: / /mail.g oog le.conVmai I /u /0 / ?ui =2 &i k= e29129fcb5 &iev-- pt &search =i nboy&th= 1446aeal2el25703 1/3
