2.5 Leak Detection Collection Recovery System
The Leak Detection Collection Recovery System (LDCRS) is comprised of the geonet
drainage layer,the Leak Detection Fill in the sump area, and the Leak Detection pipe.
Ames excavated the sump, and placed approximately 25 cubic yards of Leak Detection Fill and
approximately 20 cubic yards of Pipe Bedding Fill.
2.6 Non-Structural Fill Placement
Non-structural Fill was placed on the downstream side of the northern fill slope (outside the
pond) to create an access road. This non-structural fill was placed in addition to structural fill
shown on the IFC drawings. As-constructed drawings showing this additional fill are located
in Appendix A. Non-structural fill was compacted using equipment travel only, and is not a
structural component of the embankment.
