winter. He needed a backup plan so when the house well broke, he had a way to water his
COWS.
"Sinkhole" or depressions were discussed again, I stated that I wanted to survey the
Burbridge property after they got the hay off and see if there were any negative flow
depressions. Buckshot thought that several locations would need to be disc and leveled
and then topsoil would need to be brought in. I didn't say anything. Then he mentioned
about not being able to afford siderolls. I mentioned that he should go ahead and make
an offer on the siderolls in place of doing all the earth work. He thought that would be a
good idea and would go home and consider that option. I told Buckshot that WFC would
consider any offer but we held the right to refuse the offer too. He understood.
Buckshot had concerns about the Garvey - Burbridge pipeline and would it be big enough
to deliver Burbridges shares of water `plus' all the water that `may' come out of the risers
that are more in the WFC /Garvey /San - Miguel fields. I told Buckshot that WFC could not
design and install irrigation systems for the absolute worse case scenarios of what -if land
owners buy what -if parcels of land and transferred all their water to those parcels. He
understood. I also mentioned that water delivered to their property line would have zero
quantity loss from the head gate (loading box) to his property. Buckshot understood that
and said they thought they lost 50% of their water from the time it left the West Lateral to
their property under the old open ditch system. I also pointed out they `could' benefit by
receiving more irrigation water from the present pipeline, loading box. That `if' the big
pipeline was overflowing water down the hill, that the excess water would backup and go
around and fall into the smaller pipeline ( Burbridge, Garvey, Benson, etc. pipeline). That
if the Burbridges worked with other land owners on the same pipeline and shared their
water, all could benefit. Buckshot said they had done that in the past with the Garveys.
He thought about that and the light bulb came on. He liked that.
The informal meeting concluded with a handshake and a smile. He went back to cutting
hay and I heading back to the office.
{00056962.11
