ameO <br /> PART 2: PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 MATERIALS <br /> A. Fill materials will consist of Structural/Overburden Fill, Select Structural Fill, and Coarse Shaft <br /> Backfill identified in Section 2200.0, Cast-In-Place Concrete identified in Section 3300.0 and <br /> Cemented Rockfill identified in Section 3310.0. <br /> PART 3: EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 EXCAVATION <br /> A. The CONTRACTOR will be responsible for the safety of temporary construction slopes. <br /> CONTRACTOR shall inspect all temporary and permanent open-cut excavations on a regular basis <br /> for signs of instability. Should signs of instability be noted, CONTRACTOR shall immediately <br /> undertake remedial measures and shall notify MANAGER immediately. Permanent cut slopes shall <br /> be left in smooth,safe,and stable condition at the end of the workday. <br /> B. CONTRACTOR shall conduct all excavation and shoring operations in compliance with applicable <br /> Colorado State and Federal government laws and regulations. <br /> 3.02 FILL PLACEMENT <br /> A. Structural/Overburden Fill <br /> 1. CONTRACTOR shall condition, place and compact Structural/Overburden Fill by a <br /> method compaction technique,as discussed in Section 2200.0. <br /> Maximum rock size for rock fill shall be two-thirds of the compacted lift thickness, unless <br /> otherwise approved by MANAGER, DESIGN ENGINEER, and CERTIFYING <br /> ENGINEER. CONTRACTOR shall remove oversize materials from fills at no additional <br /> cost to CC&V. <br /> B. Select Structural Fill <br /> 1. CONTRACTOR shall condition and compact the Select Structural Fill in accordance with <br /> project SPECIFICATIONS,Section 2200.0. <br /> C. Coarse Shaft Backfill <br /> 1. Coarse Shaft Backfill shall be placed in the underground workings as part of remediation,as <br /> shown in the DRAWINGS. <br /> 2. CONTRACTOR shall compact and condition the final surface of the Coarse Shaft Backfill <br /> using a method specification that results in a firm surface that will be approved by <br /> CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br /> Section 02210 Page 2 of 3 May 9,2012 <br /> Underground Working Remediation Revision 1 <br />
