✓`" VNr
Grand Junction Concrete Pipe Company
AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
556 Struthers Ave • Grand Junction, Colorado 81501 •970/242 -5370 • FAX 970/245 -7716
February 3, 2014
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RE: 23 Road Gravel Pit, Permit # M- 1979 -089, Request for Technical Revision No. 6
Staff,
Under Rule 1.9.1, I am submitting this request for a Technical Revision to the 23 Road Gravel Pit, Permit M-
1979 -089. This TR is triggered in part by the sale of the property previously owned by Summit Materials Corp. to
Precast Concepts LLC. With this request the following revisions are requested:
Construction of a berm utilizing inert material. This berm will be constructed along the southern property
line of the Precast Concepts property. The location of, and a detail of the berm is reflected on the attached
revised Exhibit F, Reclamation Plan. The height of the berm will vary as the bottom of the current
excavation is irregular. However the top of the berm will match existing grades on both the east and west
ends of the berm. The slopes of the berm will be 3:1 on the Tipping property side and 2:1 on the Precast
Property side of the berm. As the current and post mining use of the property is "industrial" and is used as
a precast concrete manufacturing facility, Precast Concepts is requesting this excavation on their property
be left open, so they can fill in the excavation as time and material allows. The 2:1 slope of the berm on
the Precast property will allow Precast to maximize the area for fill material later on.
Perimeter fencing around the Precast Concepts property will be installed by the landowner.
Enclosed with this request are the following:
• A revised Exhibit F, Reclamation Plan Map.
• Letter from Precast Concepts addressing the revised Reclamation Plan
• Check No. 16063 in the amount of $216.00 for processing the Technical Revision.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me at 970 - 242 -5370.
Respe fully,
Gayle L an
Compli'a'nce Director
Enclosure
Xc: Travis Marshall, Grand Junction Field Office
Jeff Arnold, VP General Manager, Precast Concepts
AC' e" ✓
dtin VvLC215 '
RECEIVED
