Baseline Hydrologic Monitoring Plan — Hansen Project 53
6. SEEP AND SPRING MONITORING
A seep and spring survey will be conducted to identify perennial springs or seeps that should be added to
the monitoring program. At a minimum, the seven springs mapped on the USGS 7.5- minute quad maps
(Section 2.3.5) will be investigated. The seep and spring survey will be conducted in April or May, after
spring snowmelt is complete. The following information will be documented:
• Name and general description of the seep or spring
• Hydrological characteristics of the site
• GPS location
• Elevation (from 7.5 min. USGS topographic maps)
• Current and historic land use
• Notes on geology and geomorphology
• Indicators of disturbance such as grazing, flooding, spring "development ", etc.
• Reference photos of the site
• Flow rate and method of measurement
• Field water quality parameters (temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and
ORP)
Seeps or springs that are added to the baseline water quality program will be monitored using the analytical
suite shown in Table 20.
Table 20.
