Flow rates are measured using the area - velocity method, or by flumes or weirs. Where the area - <br />velocity method is used, a Global Water® Flow Probe TM, or similar device, is used to measure depth and <br />average velocity in a cross - sectional profile at each station (Figure 11). Area and velocity for each segment <br />are then summed to determine the total flow in the stream.
