Case Narrative
Client: Coors Energy Company
Project/Site: Coors - Keenesburg Mine, CO 80643
Job ID: 280 - 36986 -1 (Continued)
Laboratory: TestAmerica Denver (Continued)
No difficulties were encountered during the SAR analyses.
All quality control parameters were within the acceptance limits.
TestAmerica Job ID: 280 - 36986 -1
ALKALINITY
Samples FPW (280- 36986 -1), AMW -1 (280- 36986 -2), DH -96 (280- 36986 -3), DH -122 (280- 36986 -4), SMW -2 (280- 36986 -5) and
AMW -2 (280- 36986 -6) were analyzed for Alkalinity in accordance with SM 2320B. The samples were analyzed on 12/15/2012,
12/20/2012 and 12/21/2012.
Alkalinity and Bicarbonate Alkalinity as CaCO3 were detected in the method blank associated with batch 280 - 152420. The
associated positive results in the analytical report have been flagged with a "B ".
No other difficulties were encountered during the alkalinity analyses.
All other quality control parameters were within the acceptance limits.
SPECIFIC CONDUCTIVITY
Samples FPW (280- 36986 -1), AMW -1 (280- 36986 -2), DH -96 (280- 36986 -3), DH -122 (280- 36986 -4), SMW -2 (280- 36986 -5) and
AMW -2 (280- 36986 -6) were analyzed for specific conductivity in accordance with SM 2510B. The samples were analyzed on
12/14/2012.
No difficulties were encountered during the conductivity analyses.
All quality control parameters were within the acceptance limits.
TOTAL DISSOLVED SOLIDS
Samples FPW (280- 36986 -1), AMW -1 (280- 36986 -2), DH -96 (280- 36986 -3), DH -122 (280- 36986 -4), SMW -2 (280- 36986 -5) and
AMW -2 (280- 36986 -6) were analyzed for total dissolved solids in accordance with SM 2540C. The samples were analyzed on
12/19/2012 and 12/20/2012.
Each sample is analyzed to achieve the lowest possible reporting limits within the constraints of the method. Due to the matrix,
samples AMW -1 (280- 36986 -2), DH -122 (280- 36986 -4), SMW -2 (280- 36986 -5) and AMW -2 (280- 36986 -6) required a dilution (using
a reduced aliquot size). The reporting limits (RLs) have been adjusted proportionately.
No difficulties were encountered during the TDS analyses.
All quality control parameters were within the acceptance limits.
ANIONS (28 DAYS)
Samples FPW (280- 36986 -1), AMW -1 (280- 36986 -2), DH -96 (280- 36986 -3), DH -122 (280- 36986 -4), SMW -2 (280- 36986 -5) and
AMW -2 (280- 36986 -6) were analyzed for anions (28 days) in accordance with EPA Method 300.0. The samples were analyzed on
12/18/2012.
Each sample is analyzed to achieve the lowest possible reporting limits within the constraints of the method. Samples FPW
(280- 36986 -1), AMW -1 (280- 36986 -2), DH -96 (280- 36986 -3), DH -122 (280- 36986 -4), SMW -2 (280- 36986 -5) and AMW -2
(280- 36986 -6) required a dilution prior to analysis due to the nature of the sample matrix. The reporting limits have been adjusted
accordingly.
No difficulties were encountered during the anions analyses.
All quality control parameters were within the acceptance limits.
TestAmerica Denver
Page 4 of 34 1/11/2013
