Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Laboratory Liner Extension
Final Report
Quality Assurance Monitoring & Test Results
January 14, 2014
M w
100 ppi and achieve a Film Tear Bond upon breaking. All destructive extrusion seam
samples met specifications.
The summaries of destructive test results for seams for the geomembrane are
presented in Appendix H.5. Appendix A shows the destructive test sample location.
5.2.7 Non - Destructive Testing
Lone Star performed non - destructive vacuum seam testing on completed seams and
geomembrane repairs. AMEC monitored and documented non - destructive testing.
Lone Star tested extrusion welded sections with a vacuum box. Prior to vacuum box
testing, a soap and water solution was applied to the welded section. The vacuum box
was then placed over the seam area and energized with a vacuum pump capable of
creating a vacuum not less than 5 psi. Lone Star and AMEC observed the action of
the vacuum on the weld for a minimum of ten seconds. Each consecutively tested
weld length was overlapped a minimum of 3 inches. If soap bubbles appeared, AMEC
marked and documented the leak location. Lone Star then repaired the leak and
vacuum tested the repair. This procedure was used to test extrusion repairs and
extrusion patches.
The seam non - destructive test summaries for the geomembrane are presented in
Appendix H.6.
sAprojects \1125m -cc &v lab liner extension\h2 - design \lab liner extension \roc report\lab liner roc report.docx 13
