mixed and pumped Cement Plug No. 8 at 13:30 hours on July 14, 2013. Cement plug No. 8
consisted of 10 barrels of 10% CaCI water, 10 barrels of fresh water, 10 barrels of
SuperFlush, 10 barrels of fresh water and 19.6 barrels (60 sacks) of 13.5 ppg PlugCem. This
was displaced with 25 barrels of fresh water. The pipe was flushed and pulled back to
1,350 feet MD KB to wait on cement.
The top of Cement Plug No. 8 was tagged at 1,972 feet MD KB in the L5 stratigraphic zone
of the Parachute Creek Member, and the decision was made to pump one more plug prior
to drilling ahead. Halliburton mixed and pumped Cement Plug No. 9 at 03:30 hours on July
15, 2013. The ninth cement plug was preceded by a 50 cP viscosity, 30% LCM pill mixed
with 1,000 pounds of salt. The plug consisted of 10 barrels of fresh water, 13 barrels (40
sacks) of 13.5 ppg PlugCem and 3 sacks of CaCI. This was displaced with 26 barrels of
water and the pipe was pulled back to 1,350 feet MD KB to wait on cement.
Capstar tagged the top of Cement Plug No.9 at 1,826 feet MD KB on July 15, 2013 and
tripped out of the hole to pick up directional tools. The mud volume was re -built with 10%
LCM and SDI directional tools were run in the hole at 18:30 hours and drilling began on the
cement plug at 21:55 hours at 1,826 feet MD KB on July 15, 2013. Drilling ended at 1,960
feet MD KB on July 16th. No losses were experienced while drilling in this section. Samples
were collected every five feet. The samples in conjunction with the SDI surveys indicated
that the bit remained in the original drill path. Three stands of drill pipe were pulled out of
the hole and the hole was circulated and conditioned for thirty minutes. The directional
tools were tripped out and laid down in preparation to run the intermediate casing.
Capstar ran in the hole with 44 joints of 7.625 inch 26.4 lb/ft. K -55 LTC casing, landing at
1,957 feet MD KB at 16:00 hours on July 16, 2013. The last two joints were washed to
bottom. Halliburton held a safety meeting with the rig crew and rigged up. The casing was
circulated while rigging up to cement. Halliburton mixed and pumped the following
sequence: 10 barrels water, 20 barrels SuperFlush, 10 barrels water, lead cement: 360
sacks of Elastiseal cement mixed at 14 ppg with 7.56 gallons per sack water, yielding 1.58
Daub & Associates, Inc.
