The mud volume was re- built, with the viscosity at 45 cP and LCM content at 35% to 40 %.
The pipe was run in the hole open ended to 1,910 feet MD KB with no resistance, then
pulled back to 1,846 feet to pump the LCM slug. Capstar pumped approximately 170
barrels of the LCM mud downhole with no returns. The LCM was allowed to settle for 50
minutes and another 40 -50 barrels were pumped down, again with no returns.
Halliburton (Vernal, UT office) was contacted to design and test a cement plug mixture for
the lost circulation situation. Capstar tripped in the hole to 1,920 feet and then washed
down to 1,940 feet MD KB, within the L5 stratigraphic zone in Parachute Creek Member of
the Green River Formation. The open -ended pipe was picked up to a depth of 1,890 feet
to in preparation to pump the cement plug. The Halliburton Cementing crew was on
location with all components and pumping cement at 00:45 hours on July 9, 2013. The
pumping sequence was as follows: ten barrels of 10% CaCI water, a ten barrel spacer of
fresh water, ten barrels of Super Flush 101, a five barrel spacer of fresh water, followed
with 25 sacks of PlugCem V4 mixed with 8.72 gallons per sack fresh water for a 15.5 ppg
slurry with a yield of 1.83 ft3/ sack. This was all displaced with 25 barrels of fresh water.
Twenty barrels of fresh water was returned to surface at the end of the cementing
operations. The pipe was pulled back out of cement and two more barrels of water were
pumped down hole to determine if the fluid level had stabilized. The level continued to
drop, but somewhat slower than before. The pipe was tripped out to 1,000 feet to wait on
cement to set.
The drill rods had been used to spot the cement plug and all of the HWDP had been
removed from the cementing string. While waiting for the cement to set up, Capstar ran
in the hole with all the drill rods that were made up into approximately 60 foot stands.
Every joint was broken down on the way back out in order to lay them down and re -build
the directional drilling BHA.
The SDI BHA No. 4 (Serial No. 6707, with a 2- degree bend) was picked up and run in the
hole at 14:45 hours on July 9, 2013. It was washed down to 1,862 feet MD KB where the
Daub & Associates, Inc. Page 5 of 13 10H -1V Well Summary Report
