the existing 6H Pad to minimize surface disturbance. The 10H -1V well was drilled to
penetrate near the end of the 10H -I injection well cavity in an attempt to restore /improve
circulation to the 10H solution mining interval. The 1OH -1 well was previously
interconnected with a horizontal recovery well (10H -R), for solution mining and recovery
of nahcolite from the UBB. The 10H -I well was recompleted to clean out the slotted shoe
joint with a work -over rig subsequent to the completion of the 10H -1V well.
The drilling contractor was Capstar Drilling Inc. (Capstar), headquartered in Casper,
Wyoming. Capstar used two crews per day working twelve -hour shifts from 06:00 hours to
18:00 hours, and 18:00 hours to 06:00 hours, respectively. A tool pusher was onsite and
available 24 hours per day. The Rig #314 was used for all drilling operations on this well.
The directional drilling contractor was Scientific Drilling, Inc. (SDI), operating out of Grand
Junction, Colorado. SDI used two crews per day. Each crew consisted of a directional
driller and a monitor - while - drilling (MWD) person, working a twelve -hour shift from 06:00
hours to 18:00 hours, and 18:00 hours to 06:00 hours, respectively.
The drilling consultants were Scott Claussen, Curt Claussen and Kelly Claussen of Claussen
Consulting, Inc. from Grand Junction, Colorado. The mud engineer was Hamm R. Collins of
Marquis Alliance Energy Group USA from Denver, Colorado. Two geologists representing
Daub and Associates, Inc. (Daub) from Grand Junction, Colorado, were on -site for geologic
consulting and monitoring of the slant well drilling operations. The Daub geologists
ensured that the intermediate casing was set in the L5 Zone B/C bed prior to drilling out
into the UBB and that connection was made with the 10H -I solution mining cavity. The
Daub personnel gathered appropriate information, data and reports pertaining to the
drilling activities in order to produce a comprehensive well report to be submitted after
the well completion.
Daub & Associates, Inc.
