Compliance With Mine Plan <br />N - Support Facilities Not On -site <br />N - Other <br />N - Special Categories Of Mining <br />R - Processing Waste <br />R - Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />This was a partial inspection of the Bowie No. 2 Mine conducted by Brock Bowles of the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining & Safety. Bill Bear of Bowie Resources, LLC was present for the inspection. The weather <br />was sunny and cool. The ground was frozen with patchy snow. <br />AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION — Rule 4.17: <br />There was a large amount of activity during this inspection. Coal was being mined, processed and <br />stacked. A unit train was loaded with coal as a second train was being loaded. Gob was being hauled to gob pile <br />43 and a bulldozer was spreading the gob. Coverfill material was being moved within gob pile 43 to construct the <br />underdrain. There was no sign of dust clouds or fugitive dust onsite or off <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />Six elk were grazing on the hillside below the King Mine (photo 1) <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 ❑ Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Ponds B, C, D, F and J all contained water but none were discharging (photo 2 & 3). Water from the <br />facilities area was being directed to pond B. The sediment marker in Pond F read 6 feet. Pond K was dry. The <br />pond J emergency spillway was free and clear of obstructions (photo 4). A berm was set up on gob pile 2 to <br />collect the water draining from stacked gob higher on the pile. The collected water was being drained by <br />corrugated black pipes down the face of the gob pile to a ditch directing the water to pond F (photo 5). <br />PROCESSING WASTE /COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11 ❑ Drainage Control; Surface <br />Stabilization; Placement: <br />Coal waste from the cleaning plant was being hauled to gob pile 43.
