Compliance With Mine Plan NA - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N -Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> NA -Processing Waste R -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> An aerial inspection of the Carbon Junction Mine was conducted by Division personnel in <br /> December, 2013. Photographs were taken by Harry Ranney on Wednesday, December 18, and <br /> were later analyzed and anotated by Marcia Talvitie. <br /> Skies were overcast, and the ground surface was partially covered with snow. The inspection <br /> focused on the Carbon Junction drainage, including the repair and reestablishment work <br /> accomplished in November 2013 in the Upper Carbon Junction Channel. <br /> The mine was granted Phase II bond release in 2011 under SL-04. <br /> PERMITTING UPDATE: <br /> TR-17: The Diviison formally issued this revision on 12-Nov-2013, and work on the Upper <br /> Carbon Junction Channel commenced the same day. <br /> RN-04: The Division issued a second adequacy review letter on 18-Dec-2013. The decision <br /> date has been extended to 20-Jan-2014. <br /> EXCESS SPOIL and DEVELOPMENT WASTE—Rule 4.09 <br /> Placement; Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization: <br /> • Permanent disposal of excess spoil within the original Carbon Junction Canyon has been <br /> approved. The Previously Reclaimed Spoils Area (PRSA) appeared to be well vegetated and <br /> stable with respect to erosion. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures <br /> 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br /> Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments <br /> 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> • The region received 4 to 6 inches of snowfall on December 8 and 9.
