EXHIBIT I - Soils Information
A copy of the soils information provided by the Phillips County NRCS is attached in the pre -
mining section. The NRCS soil maps show the soil as being Wages- Eckley -Dix loam, which
primarily occupies intermittent drainage ways, and Haxtun Sandy loam. The soil consists of
deep, well- drained, loamy soils, with their subsoil often somewhat gravelly. It is moderately
permeable and a good source of fill for roads.
These soils are often so intermingled that it is not practical to map them separately. Elevation
at the site is 3640 feet. The area has been in dry land crop for many years.
The Platner soils lie along the bands of intermittent drainage ways. Top soil is about 5" in
thickness. These soils are suitable for cultivation and the plan is to turn the site back into farm
ground as mining is completed.
