Doug Keller
From: Johnson, Brian - NRCS, Hugo, CO <brian Johnson @co.usda.gov>
Sent: Monday, November 21,20113:04 PM
To: doug @pbgravel.com
Subject: RE: Craig Ranch grass mix recommendation
Doug,
I would expect the vegetation to be switch grass, prairie sandreed, sand bluestem, inland salt grass and needle & thread.
Craig Ranch is not map for soils but the estimated top soil depth would be 0 -5 inches and then 5 -60 inches. Soil would
probably be a loamy sand.
Brian
- - - -- Original Message - - - --
From: done @Dberavel.com fmailto:doug @pbgravel.coml
Sent: Monday, November 21, 20112:40 PM
To: Johnson, Brian - NRCS, Hugo, CO
Cc: doug @pbgravel.com
Subject: Re: Craig Ranch grass mix recommendation
Thank You Brian,
Would you be able to help me with the present vegetation growing on the same site? I would assume it to be the same
as your seed recommendation but in my permit submission, your expertise would be beneficial.
Also, if you have any soils maps for tht area, they are requesting the exisiting top soil depth. Our drilling showed a
pretty sandy soil existing directly under the vegetation. Would you have an estimate of top soil depth?
Thank You for your time,
Doug Keller
Pine Bluffs Gravel & Excavating.
