Page 9of10
b. The temporary truck chute is not depicted on the revised version of Map 11 Sheet 3.
Mine water lines have been added to the revised version of Map 11 Sheet 2
The new road has been added to the revised version of Map 13, but not to the revised
version of Map 11 Sheet 1
d. The revised version of Map 13 does not depict the Bates Portal fan. It should agree
with Map 11 Sheet 3.
e. As noted in the inspection report of October 1, 2013, the revised version of Map 13
depicts the on- the - ground water management structures around the Bates Portals fairly
well. Ditch D24C 1 does not really exist and is not necessary — it should be removed
from the map. Supporting designs should be submitted for the new structures, and
tables 20 and 21 updated accordingly
f The downstream section of C2 is still shown on the revised version of Map 13; the only
section remaining on the ground is the section under the road
g. D6 has been extended on the revised version of Map 13
h. The outlet of C 17 has not been changed. The location relative to the thickener tank
should be verified and the culvert updated if necessary
i. The re- design of the C16 system of culverts is pending. Ditch D16 was re- routed
around the power pole
J. Has the function of C12 been evaluated?
k. The location of the Raw Coal Reclaim Sump Discharge has not been updated, please
verify and update Map 13 as necessary
The contours around the explosives area on the revised version of Map 13 do not show
the berm
m. The boot wash building has not been shown at drop inlet 1 on the revised version of
Map 13
n. The response is sufficient
o. NECC chose to submit Map 11 as 3 sheets (Roads etc., Utilities, Facilities). The
Division has no objection to this.
23. Map 14 — West Portal Sediment and Surface Water Control
a. The revised version of Map 14 more accurately depicts the actual structures on the
ground, particularly in the area where DWDA3 was proposed to be built
b. The SAE has been shown however it is drawn with a clean-water ditch crossing it.
Since an SAE is by definition an exemption for a small area of the need to treat
disturbed area run -off, it cannot be bisected by any ditch. The clean water diversion
must skirt the SAE to the east side and the map should reflect this
