(Fremont Paving). The applicants shall
be responsible for compliance with this plan, but the State Engineer's Office may also pursue the
landowner for eventual compliance.
PLAN OPERATION
This pit did not exist, and no ground water was exposed, prior to January 1, 1981. This plan
proposes to replace depletions to the Arkansas River that result from mining aggregate. There will not
be a concrete batch plant. Previous approvals prior to 2009 were for dry mining, with the only water
exposure consisting of dewatering trenches (0.3 acre), a collection area (0.1 acre), and a return trench
(0.1 acre).
This amendment is requested due to an expansion of the exposed water surface area. The
previous SWSP approval letter, dated February 13, 2013, was issued for an exposed water surface
area of 5.5 acres. The present water surface area is 12 acres. Fremont Paving is actively
backfilling water surface areas and is expected to have reduced the exposed water surface area to
8.0 acres. This would include approximately 4.4 acres at the northwest sedimentation pond, 0.9
acres at the southwest sedimentation pond, and up to 2.7 acres of dewatering trench.
J
RECEIVED
NOV 2 2 2013
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
Office of the State Engineer
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303 - 866 -3581 • Fax: 303 - 866 -3589
http: / /water.state.co.us
