11/21/13 State.co.us Eecutive Branch Mail - Re: Renewal App. No. 6(RN -6) Foidel Creek Permit No. C - 1982 -056
It was nice that Brock was able to help me navigate your very unfriendly web -site.
Unfortunately he was not able to show me how to find any records of the measurements that were taken or
that may have taken place sense.
As part of the renewal application we formally request that a condition to placed on the application to require
the mine to perform addition noise studies and be required to modify operation as necessary to meet their
permit noise guidelines. If there are no specific requirement in their permit then we believe the permit
should reference the State of Colorado general standards as the required standards.
Secondly sense June we have experience "house shakes ". At four time where we present to document the
time and date of the shake. Giving the mine the benefit of the doubt we checked out the possibility of
correlations with extremely small earthquakes. There were none. Based on discussions with geotechnical
engineers familiar with long wall mining it is our understanding that the shakes were most likely cause by
tunnel /shaft collapses during the mining operation.
We are asking that as a condition of the permit's renewal that mining operations be changed to prevent the
earth shakes that are affecting our home.
We look forward to receiving your response to these formal comments.
Bill Mitzelfeld, P.E. and Susie Mitzelfeld
29345 RCR 37
Oak Creek, CO 80467
(no mail service)
Jason. musick @state. cry. its
https: / /mai l.g oog le.conVmai 1 /u /O / ?ui =2 &i k= e29129fcb5 &\iew= pt &search =i nboy&th= 1427cOc2f7e8l boa 2/2
