In addition to seeding and mulching the surface of the outslopes,
erosion control mats will be placed in the groins of the fill to reduce
erosion from surface flows in the groins. Silt fences will be installed at
the toes of the outslopes, along the mid-slope bench of the south outslope
and at several locations along the groins to further reduce erosion yield.
Silt fences when properly installed will reduce sediment by 75 percent. Straw
bale sediment traps may be used as needed for spot sediment control.
