Kunz
386 East 60 South
Ivins, UT 84738
Dear Ms. Kunz:
TAKE 'RIDE'
INAMERICA
I am writing in response to your letter of June 28, 2010, concerning the reclamation and future
use of the Mary McKinney Mine.
Our review of mine patents, abandoned mines, and lands records in this area indicates that this
site has been fully in private ownership since 1997, with no remaining Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) ownership since that time. BLM hardrock mining permitting regulations
only allow BLM review, oversight and permitting on sites that are federal public lands, hence
this agency has no authority on these private lands.
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (CDRMS) does review and permit
mining activity on private lands in Colorado. We have been in contact with Bruce Stover and
12Ry_Waldronof the CDRMS,, and Mr. Stover has informed us that he has recently been in
contact wi you off: this matter,.
If we can be of assistance in the future regarding mining sites that are overseen by the BLM,
please feel free to contact Join Morrone, BLPv11 Colorado Geologist, at (303) 239 -3722.
Sincerely,
/ %2"
Helen M.
