TR -22
Re- opening of the 9700 level ventilation
This additional described work did not add any land to our existing permitted disturbed
area. The work consisted of removing and stockpiling the available topsoil from the road
and work platform. The topsoil was stockpiled in a berm along the downhill edge of the
disturbed area to be re -used upon final reclamation. The large boulders and trees in the
work area were moved to the toe of the existing uphill side of the roadway. The existing
Steel Door covering the 36" culvert had a ventilation Grille installed to assist in
ventilating the mine workings. A Gate assembly was installed for access control. The
portal area construction will affect 0.74 Acres in the previously disturbed area. No work
was required on the road to the 9700 Portal. The proposed Steel Sets and gates that
were included in the proposed TR were not installed. (Refer to Figure 3, 4, and 5
attached)
Vent Raise in Area E
This additional described work added 0.24 acres to the project Disturbed area. It
included the removal of an old concrete and steel cap that had been installed over an
existing ventilation raise and the installation of a secured vent cover, fencing, and
access road to allow access to the site for the construction and maintenance of the vent
pipe. (Refer to Figure 6 and 7 attached)
Transformer Slab at the 9400 Portal
An 8' x 22' pad was installed for a new electrical Transformer that was placed adjacent
to the portal for a power upgrade. (Refer to Figure 8 attached)
City Water Connection
This project was started and completed within a one week timeframe during the first
week of July, 2013. The work consisted of digging a trench from the Admin Building to
the City Water Tank located 750 down the hill from the office on US Forest Service
property to connect to the city water supply. A vault was buried adjacent to the Tank
and a power line was run down the trench to provide the power source for the pump that
was installed in the vault. The trench was immediately backfilled and raked out.
Approved Seed Mix was applied to the trench scar area. The area has already achieved
at least a 75% re- growth on the disturbed area. The area will be seeded again this fall in
an effort to accomplish a 100% re- growth by spring 2014. (Refer to Figure 9 attached)
Expansion of Waste Rock Storage Facility (WRSF) adjacent to the 9400 Decline
This work consisted of removing and stockpiling the available growth medium from the
new WRSF area. The growth medium was set aside for re -use upon reclamation. The
expansion area was bermed on its perimeter and waddles and silt fence were installed
as needed to control erosion and run -off and to protect/Preserve the stockpile.
