As required by Rule 6.2.1(2)(e), please revise the Mining Plan Map to include a map scale. <br />The acceptable range of map scales shall not be larger than 1 inch = 50 feet, nor smaller than <br />1 inch = 660 feet. <br />3. As required by Rule 6.4.3(c), please revise the Mining Plan Map to include the existing <br />topography of the area with contour lines of sufficient detail to portray the direction and rate <br />of slope of the affected land. Also, include the appropriate contour interval on the revised <br />map. <br />4. As required by Rule 6.4.3(e), please revise the Mining Plan Map to include the type of <br />present vegetation covering the affected lands. <br />5. As required by Rule 6.4.3(g), please revise the Mining Plan Map to include all permanent <br />man -made structures within two hundred feet of the affected land. The railroad line on the <br />south side of the affected area is considered to be a permanent man -made structure. <br />6. If the Hoffman Pit will be mined in phases, then please illustrate the phases on the Mining <br />Plan Map. <br />6.4.4 Exhibit D — Mining Plan <br />7. The Applicant has stated that the Hoffman Pit will be mined in phases, with each phase being <br />between 10 to 12 acres in size. As required by Rule 6.4.4(e), please provide the following <br />information: <br />a. An estimate of the periods of time which will be required for the various phases of the <br />operation; <br />b. A description of the size and location of each area to be worked during each phase; <br />and <br />c. Outline the sequence in which each stage or phase of the operation will be carried out. <br />8. The Applicant has stated that erosion control BMP's will be utilized to protect drainages. <br />Please provide the Division with additional information on the BMP's to be used, including: <br />a. A general description of the placement of the erosion control structures. <br />b. Maintenance and inspection plan for the erosion control structures. <br />c. Describe any vegetative buffers that will be left in place. <br />d. A timetable for when the erosion control structures will be removed and the criteria <br />used to determine when the structures will be removed. <br />e. A timetable for when erosion control structures will be constructed as mining <br />progresses to a new phase. <br />
