10/15/13 State.co.us Executive Branch Mail -Re: Southfield Mine: MWNW & Pond 4 <br />EFCI in their document dated 12/11/2001 under 4.05 HYDROLOGIC <br />BALANCE states: <br />"In addition to the reclamation techniques and mitigation methods <br />described and referenced in this section. further protection of the <br />hydrologic balance is achieved through comprehensive and ongoing water <br />monitoring programs conducted to detect any significant changes in <br />surface and groundwater quantities or quality. The hydrologic monitoring <br />plan is discussed in Section 2.05.6, Mitigation of Surface Coal Mining <br />Operation Impacts and specific plan details are presented in Exhibit 25, <br />Hydrologic Monitoring Plan.
