Exhibit D: Reclamation Plan
Partial reclamation will occur at the end of each mining season during mining operations
as is feasible. All excavations including trenches and pits will be back filled with
stockpiled overburden and topsoil to maintain slopes and prevent erosion. After mining is
completed slopes will be contoured and graded to pre - mining condition. Any remaining
excavations will be filled with overburden and topsoil and seeded per Forest Service
recommendations. Seed mix will be broadcast and then raked if necessary. Seeding will
generally take place in the fall before the first snowfall.
Reclamation costs: The cost estimate is based on the maximum excavation and
disturbance at any possible time (worst case.) Worst case: 2 acres disturbed, overburden
and topsoil stockpiled near dig areas.
Seed mix consists of Alpine Fescue, Blue Grama, Alkali Sacaton, Meadow Brome,
Perennial Ryegrass, Slender Wheatgrass and Prairie Junegrass. Seed cost is $105.24
per acre.
Total application cost per acre for broadcast seeding is $261.28. With labor, cost totals
$366.52 per acre. Initial job cost for two acres is $733.04. Estimated failure rate of 50%
requires reseeding at $366.52. Total job cost for seeding is $1099.56.
Dozer work to fill holes to final grade is estimated to be $891.69. Cost of transporting
dozer is $710.77.
$891.69 dozer work
$710.77 equipment transport
$1.099.56 broadcast seedina —two acres
$2,702.02 total direct costs
Estimated 10% profit for contract amount is $270.20.
