Exhibit C: Mining Plan
(a) Mining will commence upon approval and will continue for 10 years. Mining activities
will be seasonal, occurring less than 180 days per year on affected land. If operations are
to continue beyond 10 years, a request for continuance will be submitted with DRMS.
(b) Top soils will be stockpiled for reclamation where found.
(c) Overburden will be stockpiled separate from topsoil.
(d) Deposit thickness will vary from one to thirty feet in depth.
(e) Four to five digging targets have been identified (see Exhibit E.)
(f) The total mining disturbance will not exceed 9.9 acres, with a maximum of two acres
affected at any one time. The work area around excavations will be benched to
accommodate overburden and topsoil piles and be used as a safety barrier during
digging activities.
(g) An existing road (FR201) will be used for mine access.
(h) No water will be used during mining operations.
(i) No groundwater or surface water will be disturbed during mining operations.
0) Not applicable.
(k) No toxic or acid forming materials are expected. If encountered, DRMS will be
consulted.
(1) This operation is not expected to have any affect on the hydrologic balance. After
mining, all excavations will be replaced, contoured and reclaimed to as stable condition
as pre- mining conditions.
(m) Minerals will be processed off -site.
(n) The commodity to be mined is mineral specimens including amazonite, smoky quartz,
fluorite and other related minerals.
(o) No explosives will be used at this operation.
