Spring 2013 Subsidence and Geologic Field Observations
South of Divide and Dry Fork Mininq Areas (E -Seam)
mining areas was therefore increased to 19° as outlined in a February 1, 2011 memorandum
(see Appendix B of this report).
7. Field visits have revealed the healing and sealing capacity of cracks in surficial material
(colluvium and alluvium) by weathering, mass wasting and crack infilling over time. This
is particularly true in colluvium and alluvium which cover much of the surface of the SOD
and Dry Fork mining areas, where these effects cause softening and rounding of the crack
edges as well as reduction of crack continuity and depth to a point of imperception within
a year or two.
831 - 032.795 Wright Water Engineers, Inc.
