Spring 2013 Subsidence and Geologic Field Observations
South of Divide and Dry Fork Mining Areas (E -Seam)
Figure 21. Westward view during the spring 2013 of the northeastern edge of the MDW E3 -17.5
pad of subsidence cracks exacerbated by differential settlement of the pad's largest fill area.
This vantage point (Figure 22) allows a view of the Deer Creek drainage from its headwater region
downstream along most of the drainage to near its confluence with Dry Fork. Views from this
location present the topography over the western end of E -seam Longwall Panels E3 through E7.
Figure 22 will serve as a baseline against which future images will be compared to assess changes.
4.16 Photographic Observation Point 7
Approximately 100 feet north of the Photographic Observation Point 6 is another new
photographic observation location. This location provides a northeast to south panoramic view
from the Ragged Mountains (background left) to Coal Mountain (background right). This vantage
point (Figure 23) allows a view of the upper portions of the Dry Fork drainage and its unnamed
tributaries. Views from this location present the topography over the central and eastern portion
of E -seam Longwall Panels E3 through E7. Figure 23 will serve as a baseline against which future
images will be compared to assess changes.
831 - 032.795 Wright Water Engineers, Inc. Page 31
September 2013
