• accuracy). All field notes, maps, and digital photographs are on file at the MAC office in Eagle,
Colorado.
RESULTS
During this inventory, MAC recorded one new site and revisited five previously recorded
sites. Of the total six sites, four are prehistoric and two are historic. Of these, five have
recommended evaluations of "not eligible" for the NRHP, while one is recommended as "need
data ".
Sites
5RT139
Site Description. This site was originally recorded in 1979 by Western Cultural
Resource Management, Inc. for a Seneca II Coal Mine project. The site is a large sparse lithic
scatter located near the northern end of the project area. The current project passes through the
center of the site. During a revisit to this site, no evidence of the site was located within the
current project area. The entire area is situated within the old Seneca mine area that has been
entirely reclaimed by re- contouring the surface and re- vegetating.
Eligibility and Management Recommendations. Site 5RT139 is listed in the OAHP
database as "needs data ". A re- evaluation of the portion that falls within the current project
recommends this portion of 5RT139 as non - contributing since it has been destroyed by
reclamation activities. No further work is recommended for this site because no evidence was
found within the proposed conveyor line corridor.
5RT145
Site Description. This site was originally recorded in 1979 by Western Cultural
Resource Management, Inc. for a Seneca II Coal Mine project. This site is a sparse lithic scatter,
also located on the northern end of the current project. The site's closest boundary is slightly over
100ft to the southwest and may not extend into the survey corridor since no evidence of the site
was observed. Another possibility is that the site was destroyed during reclamation operations for
the mine.
Eligibility and Management Recommendations. Site 5RT145 is listed in the OAHP
database as not eligible. Evidence of this site existing within the current project boundary was not
found and the site will not be impacted by the project. No further work is recommended.
5RT406
Site Description. This site was originally recorded in 1984 by Goodson and Associates
as part of the Hayden -Gore TAP 138KV Transmission Line project, and it was revisited in 1994 by
For Official Use Only: Disclosure of Site Locations Prohibited (43 CFR §7.18)
r1
J
