(in progress: decision date of 8 SEP 13)
c. Succession of Operator for M 1990 -025 (this package) from Four States Aggregate LLC
(owned by McStone Aggregates LLC) to Montezuma County. (in progress, submitted 10 SEP 13)
d. Application for conversion of M1983 -028, Wallace Pit, from Limited (1 10) to Regular (1 12) (by
Stone Sand & Gravel), to include portions of affected lands now part of this M1990 -025. (This
letter and package)
e. Application for amendment of M1990 -025, Hay Camp Pit, by Montezuma County, to remove
acreage not to be disturbed and add acreage for future mining and for other purposes.
We appreciate the coordination, especially with Ms. Pickford, regarding scheduling of
inspections, to save both the Operator and the Division time and money. Based on the
evaluation of current conditions at the Wallace Pit (see Exhibit S), we will discuss the best
approach to correcting information and correctly identifying the necessary financial warranty
for the existing affected lands on M1983 -028. All of the participants want to make the process as
smooth and quick as possible. We will be contacting various other state and federal agencies
as well, to address issues of concern to all interested parties.
The assistance of the Division's personnel in these matters is very much appreciated by all parties
involved.
Sincerely,
Nathan A. Barton, CE, PE, DEE
Environmental and Permitting Compliance Engineer for the following: Montezuma County,
Lavena Saunders et al, Daren and Kathy Stone, McClellan McClellan & Nelson, McStone
Aggregates LLC, Stone Sand & Gravel LLC, for this project.
Distribution: to all of the above
Attachments as listed.
