2. DRMS 07/22: New Appendix 2.05.3(4) -7 has been provided with this application. The
Division notes that throughout this Appendix, nomenclature used to identify the ditches is
inconsistent with that used in the Arcadis design report of Appendix 2.05.3(4) -1. In the
Arcadis design, and throughout the approved permit text and maps, the ditches are named
"NHN -001 West" and "NHN -001 East ". The new text and maps refer instead to "Pond
001 Ditches" or "Pond NHN -001 Ditches ". Please modify the various texts and maps
submitted with this application to be consistent with the nomenclature already established
for these features.
DRMS 09/09: The names were changed in some instances, but not in all. Please refer
to the attached photocopies for specific locations that remain to be corrected.
Pages 2, 3, and 15 of Appendix 2.05.3(4) -7 have been revised to reflect the nomenclature of
the existing permit. When the pond is referred to, "Pond NHN -001 " is used, when the ditches
are referred to either, "NHN -001 Ditches ", "NHN -001 East ". or "NHN -001 West" are used,
as appropriate. Additionally, Maps 2.05.3(4) -7 and 2.05.3(4) -8 have been revised based on the
notes provided in the adequacy review.
DRMS 07/22: The new Appendix provides an analysis of the ditches that were
constructed. However, the narrative does not refer back to the original approved design,
and fails to describe why significant modifications to the ditch geometry (triangular
versus trapezoidal) were instituted during construction.
DRMS 09/09: Some discussion was provided about the selection of a triangular design.
However, the text still does not provide a reference to the approved design. Please insert
a reference to Appendix 2.05.3(4) -1 of the permit, which is where the approved ditch
designs are found.
A reference to Appendix 2.05.3(4) -1 has been added to page 1 of Appendix 2.05.3(4) -7.
4. This item is resolved.
5. DRMS 07/22: Map 2.05.3(4) -8 illustrates typical cross sections of the ditches, but
neither this map nor the narrative provides the required depth and width for the ditches
and half - culvert. Please incorporate width and depth information, by ditch segment, into
the permit.
DRMS 09/09: The Channel Properties section of Table 2.05.3(4) -7 -2 was updated, as
requested, to include information on the channel depth and width. The information
provided appears to have been mathematically derived from the required channel
capacity section of the table, and it is not clear whether the dimensions were actually
measured in the field. Since this Appendix is intended to provide as -built information, it
should provide widths and depths that were measured in the field. Please review, and
comment or revise as appropriate.
The channel depth and width information in Table 2.05.3(4) -7 -2 is measured based on cross
sections of surveys of the ditches. A note has been added to the table explaining this.
