Presentation of StateMod model functionality, concentrating on model operations,
calibration results, and calibration difficulties
• Introduction to methods and techniques for presenting results
The BRTs will be asked for feedback during the meetings, and also be invited to look
closer {or have their consultants review) at the input data, and model representations.
They will also be asked to compile any additional written comments as a committee and
to provide them. to the Consultant team. The deadline for BRT feedback will be six
weeks after the workshop.
4.3 Consultant Team Review -Several Consultant team members have been involved with
the development of the Subbasins' StateCU and StateMod models prior to this Study.
Consultant team members will present an overview of their previous efforts and
knowledge of operations and calibration issues to other Consultant team members. Those
other Consultant team members will peer~review the previous work (i.e., previous
development of the StateCU and StateMod models) and recommend further refinements
to the models. These activities are expected to provide an extra level of refinements and
recommendations beyond the BRT reviews.
4.4 Recommend Model Refinements - Prepare a technical memorandum documenting
suggested refinements to Subbasin models based on input collected from the BRTs, from
the CWCB and from Consultant team reviews (Tasks 4.2 and 4.3). The magnitude of
potential modifications to the CDSS databases and StateMod are difficult to predict prior
to Consultant team review and BRT input. Therefore, the input received from the
Consultant team and Task 4 BRT review will be categorized as follows:
• Recommended -refinements will that significantly enhance the basin representation
and the understanding of the impact of alternative hydrology (Suggested refinements
that are expected to result in changes in streamflows or reservoir contents greater than
10 to 15 percent will be considered potentially significant);
• Desirable -- if possible to implement within the Study's budget and schedule, these
refinements should be incorporated;
• Optional -the suggested changes would enhance the supporting data and/or model
capabilities but are not anticipated to have significant overall effects on the purpose
ar results of this Study. The State will keep these suggestions an file for potential
future reference and implementation; or
• Infeasible -the suggested changes are impractical to implement.
Submit the technical memorandum to CWCB for review and comment. Based on
comments from CWCB, prepare a final technical memorandum. The "Recommended"
and "Desirable" refinements will be used as the basis for Task 5 work.
Deliverables:
4.1 Basin-specific model briefs.
Colorado River Water Availability Study Scope 1 1 8128120{lg
CRWAS Phasel Contract Scope EX A Finai
