LOCATION:

Upper Colorado River basin.

C. OBJECTIVES:

1. Determine monthly and annual dissolved solids and constituent
loads and concentrations at all stations with sufficient
WATSTORE record.

2. Determine trends in flow, dissolved solids concentrations,
dissolved solids load, flow adjusted concentrations, and all
major constituents.

3. Determine source areas of dissolved solids.

4. Determine cause of trends found in the Upper Colorado River
basin.

5. Develop a method for determining "natural" salt load at the
CRSS stations in the Upper Colorado River basin ~nd estimate
monthly natural salt loads for those stations.

6. Utilize record extension techniques to estimate complete
monthly and annual dissolved solids loads for 1941-83 at 12 of
the 20 (CRSS) stations in the Colorado River Basin.

D. PROGRESS AND RESULTS:

1. All data needed for the 6 objectives has been collated from
WATSTORE, USBR, and other data bases.

2. The first draft of "History of streamflow, water use, and
dissolved solids in the Upper Colorado River basin" will be
completed by December 1, 1985. This report covers objectives
1-4, and provides much of the input data for 5 and 6.

3. An outline has been completed for the report covering objective
#5 with work progressing. Planned completion of first draft of
the report is February, 1985.

<i
~f

j

'.

:",~ ",,;", -'-

~. --~,,:;;>;~~,

f
-, -.1
~
"<"- .
-~.
