<br />project plan has been reviewed by many consnlting
<br />engineers, tbe National Resources Committee, the
<br />OODunittee on Irrigation and Reclamatiou of tbe U, S,
<br />Senate, tbe U, S, Department of Agriculture, tbe
<br />Colorado State Planning Conunis,sion, and otber
<br />Federal, State, and local agencies, Tbese grOUps have
<br />agreed tbat tbe plan is botb meritorioua and necessary,
<br />Tbe project was autborized in 1987 by two separate
<br />action.s,one by tbe Oongress, tbe otber by the President,

<br />' plan, PllJ't of tbe eastern slope routing Was cbanged, and
<br />furtber pOWer in.stallations have been .dded, Tbe
<br />Green Mountain Dam, first to b. constructed, Was
<br />completed in 1944, the Sbadow Mouutain Dam Was
<br />completed in 1946, and tbe Alv. B, Adams Tunnel
<br />Was first pl.ced in sernce during 1947, Work is
<br />progressing on other features of the project.
