eastern slope. Tbe Secondary purpose is to. generate
hYdroelectric power from the system wherever falli4g
\vater otIers a suitable OpportUnity. An estimated
average quantity of 310,000 acre.feet is available each
year for diversion from a point east of Grand Lake
near the head of th. Oolorado River, yet such diversion,
With the replacement storage proposed, Wiil not en-
croach Upo.n the present Of future irrigation require_
ment of western slope lands in Colorado.. This de-
pendable supplemental supply will improve economic
stability through reduction iu drought hazards, more
The project plan includea the folloWing features
Wmeh function together as a unit:
Iff"n Mountain Dam and Reservoir on the .Blue
Rivor, a western slope tribntary, stores water to pro-
tect Colorado River Basin USers against depletidn of
their late sunnner snpply resulting from diversion to
the eastern slope, and assiats further we'tern slope
development.
Iffanby Dam, and Reservoir on the Colorado River,
Continental Divide to an eastern slope, point on the
Wind RiVer D:ve miles southwest of Estes Park.
Estes Park A.Q1U3ducl and Power System extends from
the East Portal Dam on the Wind River to Estes POwer
plant near Estes Park. It inclndes the East Portal
D_, Aspen Creek Conduit and SiPhon, Rams Horn
Tunnel, Marys Lake .pOWer plant, Marys Lake Dams
and Reservoir, Prospect Conduit and Prospect Moun_
tain Tunnel, and Estes power plant.
Este8 FootMlk A.queduct and POWer System extends
from Estes pOWer piant to Flatiron Power plant, It
inclUdes Olympus Dam and Estes Reservoir, Olympus
