This option appears less costly than
diversions from Green Mountain and Ruedi Reservoirs and
funding may be sought for hydrogeology studies.

Clinton spoke to the High Altitude Revegetation Workshop
in Fort Collins, Colorado, on March 5.

Clinton and McKeever toured the Solar Energy Research Institute
where studies are underway on microalgae capable of living
in saline water and producing fatty acids having high market
value.

Clinton spoke to Western Colorado Projects Review Conference
on March 8 and discussed the project with water users and
representatives of Senators Hart and Kogovsek's offices.

On March 14, McKeever and Clinton spoke to approximately
80 members of the Cheyenne Rotary Club and briefed the Wyoming
State Planning Coordination Office.

Clinton and Stefanec met with the Colorado Department of
Natural Resources on March 23 to provide a project update.

Clinton, Fite, and representatives of Utah Power and Light
Company and other western utilities met with Jack Laughlin,
Reclamation consultant, on March 27 regarding his study
on technologies to achieve zero discharge at Hunter Powerplant.
Study results show that brine concentration is more economical
than saline water cooling towers. Studies will be done
on various options using saline water from the Price-San
Rafael Rivers, and work statements will be prepared for
similar studies on Big Sandy River, Virgin River, Las Vegas
Wash, and Glenwood-Dotsero Springs.

m. .~m](Wl.J] n
n[ APR 271984 'J U

DEPARI'",,,, ..
