A markup of the Senate version (S.752) is being <br />sought by the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum. <br /> <br />Clinton will meet with the Colorado River Basin Salinity <br />Control Forum Work Group on April 30 in Salt Lake City. <br /> <br />2.3. ANTICIPATED MAY EVENTS <br /> <br />Williams, Greenwood, Clark, and Clinton will attend the <br />May 1 meeting of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control <br />Forum in Salt Lake City. <br /> <br />3.0 SUBTEAM: COAL MARKET/COAL SUPPLY (McKeever) <br />3.1 MARCH EVENTS <br /> <br />The Electric Power Development Corporation of Japan asked <br />the Iwatani Company to explore the possibility of building <br />two coal handling pipelines using CO2, Iwatani has developed <br />a process to obtain CO2 by stack gas scrubbing and could <br />use the CO2 to move imported coal from ships. <br /> <br />The Japanese Coal Development Corporation and 10 Japanese <br />utilities were briefed informally on AQUATRAIN. It appears <br />that a formal approach through U.S. diplomatic channels <br />will be needed to initiate action. <br /> <br />The briefing proposed by Secretary Clark for various 90vernment <br />departments on supply of coal to domestic and export markets <br />has been set for April 20. <br /> <br />3.2 ANTICIPATED APRIL EVENTS <br /> <br />On April 2, Ira McKeever will return to W. R. Grace & Co. <br />as his executive loan to Western Water Reserves, Inc., has <br />expired. Efforts to find a replacement have been initiated. <br /> <br />2 <br />
