CONTRACT AMENDMENT #1
Muth Platte Decision Support System - Feasibility Study Extension

This Amendment, made this 20d. day of August, 2001, by and between the State of Colorado for the use and
benefit of the Department of Natural Resources (Colorado Water Conservation Board) hereinafter referred
to as the State, and Brown and Caldwell. 1697 Cole Boulevard. Suite 200, Golden. Colorado 80401,
hereinafter referred to as the Contractor.

Factual Recitals

Authority exists in the Law and Funds have been budgeted, appropriated and otherwise made available for
payment in Fund Number 424, Appropriation Code S PS , Agency PDA, Org YYYY, Contract
Encumbrance Number C \53869; and required approval, clearance, and coordination has been accomplished
from and with appropriate agencies; and

The State entered into the Original Contract, which is incorporated herein by reference, on August 24d.,
2000, Contract Routing Number 01-PDA-00015, Contract Encumbrance Number CI53869 which
authorized the Contractor to conduct a feasibility study (Study) for a South Platte Decision Support System
(SPDSS).

During the perfonnance of the Study the State and the Contractor determined that additional time and
funding would be needed to complete the Study.

At the January 2001 meeting, the Colorado Water Conservation Board approved an additional $100,000
dollars out of the $2,000,000 appropriation, as authorized by Section 8 ofSB 01-157, to be used to complete
the Study.

The State and the Contractor agree to amend this contract to extend the time for completion of the Study to
November 30, 2001 and increase the total Study Budget to $200,000.

NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby agreed that

1. Consideration for this Amendment to the Original Contract, Contract Encumbrance Number
C153869, dated August 24, 2000 consists of the payments which shall be made pursuant to this
amendment and the promises and agreements herein set forth.
