<br />~ <br /> <br />FPR 247 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Cen~ennial Building <br />1313 She~man Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 16, 1986 <br /> <br />RES 0 ~ UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of <br />Carbondale, Garfield County, Colorado," which includes floodplain <br />information and data for the Crystal River, dated February 5, <br />1986, has been prepared by Darner> and Moore under contract with <br />the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Carbondale has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />requires the Colorado Water COrlservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legiSlative bodies of local jurisdic- <br />tions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on o~ along <br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after desig- <br />nation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />708 <br />res/247 <br /> <br />I <br />
