<br />'WHEREAS, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha
<br />District, completed in November, 1970, the FloodPlain Information
<br />Report for the Denver Metropolitan Region, Volume V, which included
<br />Lena Gulch; and ' ,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested
<br />by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, by resolution adopted
<br />January 12, 1971, approved and designated the floodplains described in
<br />said Volume V; and '
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, in
<br />cooperation with the City of-C~~ City of Lakewood, City of Wheat-
<br />ridge and Jefferson Coun~y ~~~ues~eg) Wright-McLaughlin Engineers,
<br />Denver, Colorado, to rev~se e November, 1970 Flood Plain Information
<br />Report, Volume V, insofar as it pertains to Lena Gulch, to include'
<br />upstream reaches not previously reported, taking into account the urban
<br />development within the basin which has changed the hydrologic and
<br />hydraulic characteristics of the basins and their, floodplains; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Wright-McLaughlin Engineers has completed Major
<br />Drainageway Planning Report, Volume 1, dated June, 1975, and Flood
<br />Hazard Area Maps, Volume 2, dated June, 1975; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the report and flood hazard'areamaps outline and
<br />describe the revised and additional upstream floodplains;' and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes
<br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
<br />approve storm or flood water runoff channels and to make such desig-
<br />nations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and

<br />WHEREAS, Section 30-28-111 (counties) and Section 31-23-201
<br />(towns and cities), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, provide that local
<br />governmental jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for any
<br />storm or flood water runoff channel after designation and approval of

<br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District has
<br />requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to review said reports
<br />and flood hazard area maps relative to those portions of Lena Gulch
<br />within the City of Golden, City of La~wood, City of Wheatridge and
<br />Jefferson County; and
