COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />August 16, 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain in~ormation report entitled "Flood <br />Plain Analysis, Eagle River ~states, Town of Gypsum, Eagle <br />County, Colorado," dated September, 1981, has been prepared by <br />the Eldorado Eng ineering Company, at the request of the Town of <br />Gypsum 1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, . said report descI:ibes and outl ines .. the floodplain <br />data and information for the stcmn and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins for that portion of the Eagle River within the current <br />corporate limits of the Town of: Gypsum below the U.S. Highway 6 <br />bridge onlY1 and <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Gypsurn has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set .forth in the aforesaid IE!.port1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requires <br />the prevention <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado WatEer Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and fl<:>od damages therefrom 1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff. channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado. Water Conservation <br />Board 1 and. . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Wat€lr Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and. to <br />make such designations availabJ.e to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the ~oard has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and 1lpprove as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report 1 <br />
