<br />FPR 293 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 20, 1989 <br /> <br />R ~ R Q ~ MIl Q N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodpla in informat ion report ent i tled "Flood <br />Plain Management Study, Rio Grande Near Del Norte," dated <br />September, 1988, has been prepared by the U.S. Department of <br />Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service, at the request of Rio <br />Grande County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the said report includes detailed study reaches for <br />the Rio Grande (Unincorporated Areas) on January 20, 1989, in <br />Rio Grande County, Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the said <br />floodplains for the storm <br />study reaches: and <br /> <br />report describes and outlines the <br />and floodwater runoff channels for the <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County commissioners of Rio Grande <br />County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve the floodplains set forth in the aforesaid <br />report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(l) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />requires the <::0 I o_ta_do , Wat_er c::onservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages-therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 3l-23-30l and 30-28-111. Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that legislative bodies of local jurisdictions <br />may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(l)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions: and <br /> <br />9180E <br />
