Status of Roaring Fork-Fryingpan River Multi-Objective Planning Project
The Board staff is pleased to update the Board on the Multi-Objective Planning Project on the
Roaring Fork River in Pitkin. Eagle, and Garfield Counties. I will provide you with an update
for the following activities:
· Multi-Objective Planning Project consultant selection
· Negotiations with the Ruedi Water and Power Authority
· Negotiations with the Town of Basalt

MULTI-OBJECTJ\'F. PLANNING PROJECT CONSULTANT SELECTION

The CWCB has publish~d a kgal notice soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ's) from
engineering consultants to p~rform the Roaring Fork-Fryingpan River Multi-Objective Planning
Project. The notice was publish~d Friday, April 17, 1998 and Monday, April 22, 1998, in the
Daily Journal. Interested panies then contacted CWCB staff to obtain copies of the Preliminary
Scope of Work, a Sample Scoring Sheet (showing how the SOQ's would be scored) and other
background information.

SOQ's are due back to the CWCB on Monday, May 41998. Between May 4 and May 14, the
SOQ's will be evaluated by a panel of 5 reviewers. On Thursday, May 14, 1998, the top 4 SOQ's
will be selected and approved at the meeting of the Ruedi Water and Power Authority. Those 4
consultants will be invited to interviews in Glenwood Springs during the last week in Mayor the
first week in June. Once the top firm has been selected and contract negotiations have been
completed, the contract will be signed and approved, and the work will begin, The attached
Scope of Work describes what work will be done for the $6S,000 budget.
