At the May 22,2001 Broad Meeting, staff was requested to formalize the <br />operating guidelines for the administration of the lands within the Chatfield Downstream <br />Channellmprovement Project right-of-way, <br /> <br />Discnssion <br />Since November 1995, the staff has been performing technical reviews and providing the Board <br />with recommendations for easement requests under general guidelines. These guidelines <br />addressed the CWCB and Corps of Engineers project objectives for maintaining the design intent <br />for the project and the design flood conveyance of the improved flood channel. In addition, <br />Board is partnering with the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District to provide a quality <br />recreational program and the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District to provide an annual <br />maintenance program within the Board's project right-of-way. All of the Board's actions have <br />been perfOlmed under the operating requirements as outlined in the project "operation and <br />maintenance manual" by the Corps of Engineers, Omaha District dated 1990, <br /> <br />On June 12\h, the Board staff conducted a field tour with representatives from the South <br />Suburban Parks and Recreation District, Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, and Corps <br />of Engineers to view and observe the developments on CWCB Project lands. The purpose ofthe <br />trip was to gather field data to assist in drafting the attached guidelines, <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the Board review and comment on the attached Easement Guidelines <br />prepared by the Flood Protection Section dated 2001 with acceptance and approval at the <br />September 2001 Board Meeting, <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
