Request for Feasibility Study Grant

Introduction

The Owl Creek Supply & Irrigation Company of Eaton is requesting a grant of $5,000 for
a feasibility study of a project to rehabilitate their ditch.

Background

The Owl Creek Supply & Irrigation Company was incorporated in 1905, The Company
has 145 shareholders with 996.5 shares of stock, and is a carrier ditch company for water
from the Larimer and Weld ditch system. . The ditch has an estimated capacity of 250 cfs
and the average annual volume of water carried is approximately 30,000 acre-feet, or
about 30 acre-feet per share. Assessments are currently $50 per share and the Company
has no existing debt.

The Owl Creek Ditch is located about 5 miles east of the Town of Eaton, and about 8
miles northeast of Greeley, in Weld County. The Company has replaced a number of
ditch structures as funds allowed, but the age and condition of the ditch make it
increasingly difficult to deliver water efficiently, Many of the turnouts and measuring
weirs need to be replaced, as well as most of the drop structures. The Company would
like to evaluate the entire ditch system, and then apply for a construction fund loan to
complete the rehabilitation.
