<br />Colorado <br /> <br />Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />TO: Members of the Colorado Water Availability Task Force <br /> <br />FROM: Brad Lundahl, Water Availability Task Force Chair <br /> <br />DATE: September 22,2004 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Minutes of the Tuesday, September 21, 2004, Task Force Meeting <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at CSU's Foothills Campus in Fort <br />Collins, Colorado. Those in recorded attendance included: Brad Lundahl, Mike Gillespie, <br />Klaus Wolter, Bob Steger, Rob Wawrzynshi, Todd Neff, Joe Lambert, Reagan Waskom, <br />Mary R. Halstead, Marti Morgan, Scott Archer, Jennifer Erxleben, Chris Pacheco, <br />Keith Vander Horst, Larry Lang, Roger Pielke, Bill Hansen, Esther Vincent, Joe Messina, <br />Major King, Bob Glancy, John D. Gordon, and Kathie Hepp-Lucki. <br /> <br />Brad Lundahl. Colorado Water Conservation Board, W A TF Chair <br />Mr. Lundahl welcomed everyone to the meeting. The meeting began at 10:05 a.m. in CSU's <br />CIRA Building. <br /> <br />Later, Mr. Lundahl suggested people think about having a workshop early next year with other <br />drought task force groups from other states. <br /> <br />Governor's Policv Office <br />There was no one from the Governor's office at this meeting. <br /> <br />Jack Bvers, Deputv Director, Division of Water Resources <br />Mr. Byers was unable to attend this meeting. <br /> <br />Mike Gillespie, Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) <br />Mr. Gillespie said our SNOTEL was above average for this time of the month, to date, for the <br />western half of the state, and the rest of the state was average to slightly below average. He <br />mentioned that the water year, to date, is below average, and most of the state is slightly below <br />average overall. <br /> <br />Mr. Gillespie stated that the precipitation figures as of yesterday are below average since 1999. <br />He said for this date in 2002, our precipitation was below average, and for 2004 we are now in a <br />deficit of 5.48 inches. However, Mr. Gillespie said as of this date in September, we are slightly <br />above average, and that August was a dry month for us. <br />
