Jay Winner, Manager of <br />the Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservanc y District, will present the Fountain Creek <br />Corridor Master Plan that is currently under de velopment. <br />Background Information: <br />The Fountain Creek Corridor Master Plan is being developed as a <br />part of an IGA between Colorado Springs Ut ilities and the Lower Arkansas Valley Water <br />Conservancy District. This Master Plan focu ses on a 44-mile stretch of Fountain Creek from <br />southern Colorado Springs to the Arkansas. It is being done in cooperation with the Army Corps <br />and their watershed study and focuses on addres sing various goals and st rategies developed by <br />the FCVTF, as well as getting approval from the Task Force. Work on this began in 10/07 and <br />will be completed in 2 years. <br />Previous Related Board Actions for Fountain Creek Watershed: <br /> The CWCB has funded the <br />following related efforts in the Fountain Creek Watershed: <br />A portion of the Army Corps Fountain Creek Watershed Study (CWCB and DOLA are <br />funding $600K of this $3M study). This study is being sponsored by the Fountain Creek <br />Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) which is a consortium of 11 local governments in the <br />watershed. <br />A portion of the facilitation for the Fountain Creek Vision Task Force (FCVTF), through a <br />roundtable grant. This Task Force is made up of over 300 people th roughout the watershed, <br />from local elected officials to concerned citi zens. Monthly meetings of this group’s teams <br />and sub-teams have been ongoing for almost two years.
