CRDSS <br />TASK MEMORANDUM 1.06-4 <br />Spatial Database <br />Spatial Database Year 1 Summary <br />1.0 ISSUE <br />This task memorandum summarizes the progress made on the spatial database task in Year 1. <br />2.0 DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />Phase I (January-April 1994) <br />Subtask 1: Review Spatial Data Requirements, Complete Inventory of Sources, and Create a <br />Population Schedule for Phase IIa <br />A spatial database requirements document was written (Task Memorandum 1.06-1) identifying <br />? <br />possible sources and planning strategy for design and implementation of the database. <br />Subtask 2: Finalize a Database Design and Develop a Methodology for Using Geographical <br />Information Systems (GIS). <br />A document describing the use of GIS in CRDSS (Task Memorandum 1.06-2) was written. <br />? <br />Subtask 3: Revise and Develop a Work Plan for Phase I and IIa. <br />A time-line was created along with a detailed work plan for Phase I and IIa. These documents <br />? <br />identify subtasks that support the goals outlined in the Year 1 scope of work. <br /> <br />Dates and responsibilities were identified in the work plan for when software and hardware <br />? <br />should be in place to coordinate with other activities. <br />Phase IIa (May-December 1994) <br />Subtask 1: Populate Spatial Database <br />The main activities conducted for this subtask were data collection, revision, and development <br />? <br />of Western Slope data (primarily for the Gunnison River basin). <br /> <br />Spatial data were collected in ARC/INFO, ASCII, and dBase format. Each of these formats was <br />? <br />processed in ARC/INFO. <br /> <br />In ARC/INFO, these data were converted into UTM projections and meter units, and were <br />? <br />migrated to GRASS. <br /> <br />1 <br />A 275 01.08.95 1.06-4 Lange <br />
